Cardiac Cath Date

PRE FONTAN CATH SCHEDULED: March 11th I certainly hope that he qualifies for the surgery. I will be glad to get that worry out of my mind. I jump every time the phone rings. I will be glad when the surgery is scheduled too.

Here We Go

If you recall reading a few posts ago, we had a cardiology appointment on the 15th. I have to say, I was actually impressed with Dr. Williams, our cardiologist. This time, we walked in and he knew what was going on, and both Kyle and I felt a LOT better about it. Good thing. We need to have some confidence in him for what is coming up. I had mentioned earlier that I wanted to have a 6-12 month plan in mind so that I had time to plan our lives. We definitely got a plan, but not quite on the time frame I had in mind. He paid attention for about 15 seconds, but I was able to get a few of these great shots, so I am happy. I am now remembering how different life was last year with a baby who couldn't run away and climb off the bed! I take these pictures each year around Valentines day in order to spread some awareness of Congenital Heart Disease (CHD). In reality, by joining us and following along with Grant's journey, you are already very much aware of the impact of CHD's in our lives. 1 in 100 babies will be born with some type of heart defect. Many are not as serious as Grant's and go undetected sometimes for YEARS (think of the stories you hear about high school athletes going into cardiac arrests during games for no apparent reason). Many women do not get great prenatal care and miss important screeni...
